After a miserable dud like ‘Yuddham Sharanam’ Naga Chaitanya has pinned all his hopes on ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’, a family entertainer which seems a safe bet as the ‘Atha-Alludu’ conflict theme has worked in Tollywood several times. After setting up decent expectations, the movie has finally hit the screens today. Let’s see whether the movie can really live up to the expectations or not.
It’s the story of a mother and daughter played by Ramyakrishna and Anu Emmanuel who are highly egoistic and a guy Naga Chaityana who decides to teach them a lesson by shedding their egos.
Several movies in the past like ‘Athaku Yamudu’, ‘Allari Alludu’ and many more have been made on a similar concept and most of them were super hits. Though director Maruthi has chosen this template, he failed to execute it properly on screen making ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’ an average fare.
On the whole, with an average first half, below-average second half, and some irritating comedy from Prudhviraj, ‘Shaialaj Reddy Alludu’ is a below-average movie.
